The gemara continue to grapple (using other tannaitic sources) with Ulla’s teaching that animals that die are not subject to laws of meila from the Torah but arefrom the rabbis. The gemara distinguishes between animals that people separate themselves from and animals that they don’t generally separate from. The gemara raises a question against Raba (who said that if an animal of high sanctity is slaugtered in the South and then put on the altar, it doesn’t not need to be removed) and leaves it as a question. The gemara brings a question of Rabbi Elazar regarding one who designated a burnt offering on a private altar and brought it to a public altar, and slaughtered in the South, and then brought on the altar, deoes it need to be removed. Since his question was on a unique case, it is asusmed that the regular case of slaughtering in the South was obvious to him however it is unclear what he would say in that case. When the blood of a pigul sacrifice is sprinkled on the altar, does it remove meila for higher sanctity sacrifices and add meila for the parts that need to be burned in lower sanctity offerings? Why?
