There are two potential sources for learning that deriving benefit from non sacrificial animals slaughtered in the azara is forbidden. The amoraim debate the issue and the gemara then tries to prove that it is also a tannaitic debate. However that opinion is rejected and various ways to understand that tannaitic debate are considered.
