{"id":3172,"date":"2016-01-17T09:16:06","date_gmt":"2016-01-17T07:16:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dafyomi4women.org\/daf\/?p=3172"},"modified":"2016-01-17T09:16:06","modified_gmt":"2016-01-17T07:16:06","slug":"gittin-35","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dafyomi4women.org\/daf\/2016\/01\/gittin-35\/","title":{"rendered":"Gittin 35"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A widow who comes to collect\u00a0her ketuba money form the orphans, must swear that the husband didn&#8217;t give her any of the ketuba money in his lifetime (just like all creditors need to do to collect from orphans on their father&#8217;s debts). \u00a0The Rabbis were concerned she may swear falsely and therefore would not allow her to swear. \u00a0Since they could no longer collect\u00a0their ketuba money, Rabban Gamliel instituted that a woman could take a vow instead of swearing. \u00a0Why is the concern only for widows?
